Ha Giang & Dong Van: 5 Days, 4 Nights Adventure

Begin your adventure in Ha Giang City, heading to Thon Tha, a charming Tay ethnic village. Start your hike through lush rice terraces and green tea plantations along buffalo trails to Lung Vai Village. Enjoy panoramic views of surrounding villages and the jungle from the mountain's summit.

Lunch will be in a traditional Black Dao house, where you can capture stunning photographs of rice fields, mountains, and local Dao girls in traditional costumes. After lunch, trek through forest trails to another Tay village, Ha Thanh. If it’s a hot day, take a refreshing swim in the waterfall before spending the night in a traditional Tay stilt house. Dinner includes local cuisine, engaging conversations with the host family, and sampling their homemade corn liquor for an enjoyable evening.

Travel by motorcycle or car to explore the Ha Giang highlands. Ascend to Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark via Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate, where you can capture breathtaking panoramic photos from over 1,000 meters above sea level. Descend to the peaceful town of Tam Son and admire the Fairy Twin Mountains.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Trang Kim Village before visiting Lung Tam Village. Here, the H’mong minority will teach you about traditional hemp fabric making. Engage with the locals and learn about their unique way of life, culture, and customs. Continue to Du Gia Village, a serene Tay tribe village, retaining its traditional beauty with stilt houses and traditional costumes. If the weather permits, swim in the pristine Du Gia Waterfall. Trek around the village before dinner and stay overnight in a Tay stilt house.

After breakfast, leave the homestay and travel to the heart of Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. Visit White H’mong villages along the way and rest in Meo Vac Town. Continue your journey through the majestic Ma Pi Leng Pass, renowned as Vietnam’s most beautiful pass, with awe-inspiring landscapes and Southeast Asia’s deepest valley. Climb to a viewpoint on the mountaintop to witness a breathtaking sunset before heading to Dong Van Old Quarter. Spend the night in this historic area.

After breakfast, drive to Vietnam’s northernmost point, Lung Cu Flagpole. Enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes and stop to explore the villages of the Lo Lo and Giay people. Visit White H’mong villages and the historic Vuong’s Family Palace (H’mong King’s Palace). Enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in Pho Cao Village before continuing to Lung Tam Village to learn more about traditional hemp fabric making from the H’mong minority.

Arrive in Nam Dam Village around 6 pm, a traditional village of the Dao people. Enjoy a dinner of local cuisine, engage in conversations with the host family, and sample their corn liquor for a delightful evening.

After breakfast, spend half a day exploring Nam Dam Village and the surrounding Quan Ba area. Visit the peaceful town of Tam Son, the Fairy Twin Mountain, and Lung Khuy Cave, one of Ha Giang’s most beautiful caves. Navigate through Pac Sum Pass before enjoying lunch in Minh Tan Village on your way back to Ha Giang City.

After lunch, visit some villages around Ha Giang and a small lake named Ho Noong. Return to Ha Giang City where the tour concludes. You have the option to stay one more night in Ha Giang City or take an overnight bus back to Hanoi. Overnight buses leave at 8 pm, and the Limousine bus departs at 4 pm daily.
